Appropriating my morning coffee –

At first I noticed the beautiful vine pattern imprinted onto the coffee cup, I firstly added roses in blue, yellow and red onto different areas of the stems. I then decided to wrap Earth coloured string (that has been sitting on my desk, waiting to be used) around the base of the cup and lid.

I would be lying to say this work has been created strategically.

I began to reject paint brushes and directly apply thick acrylic paint straight from the cap, on the top of the cup, in the hopes to resemble flowers growing from within.

On my visit to FirstSite, Colchester.

One of my favourite artists exhibiting there was Background Bob.

After the exhibition, some of us were asked to create an image over the top of one of his backgrounds. (a printed image)
