My Narcissus,

The word “Narcissus” is the genus of a Eurasian plants.

It derives from the Greek word Narkissos, which is thought to come from Narkē ‘Numbness’, with its reference to the plants narcotic effects.

While this is interesting itself, I find the definition of the word in Greek Mythology inspiring towards my practise.

(Greek Mythology)

“A beautiful youth who rejected the Nymph Echo (a minor female nature deity, generally regarded as personifications of nature) and fell in love with his own reflection in a pool.

He pined away and was changed into the flower that bears his name.”
